If you lost track of the news stories this week, our Weekly free lunch post will keep you updated.
The weekly free lunch is a bit late this week, but the week saw a number of interesting stories:
- Labour unrest in the platinum sector continued and might even spread further. The excellent Felicity Duncan of Money Web had an interesting article on when the mines are all gone.
- Internationally the news was all about the Fed’s decision to engage in QE3. Our Scoop.it page has a good article on the policy and an interesting one on the role that bloggers played in putting forward ideas of expansionary policy and NGDP targeting.
- Twitter showed both sides of the story (stimulus policy vs fears of inflation), but we liked this one best:
Inflation doomsayers increasingly resembling members of those cults that set specific dates for the Second Coming, then keep rescheduling.—
